Teaching with VR

Here you will find helpful tips to get you started teaching in VR. This page is a work in progress and reflects our current methods for integrating VR in the Art History classroom.

As a team we have thought a lot about how to successfully teach with our 3D models. We have decided to concentrate our efforts on using WebXR platforms rather than genuine VR gaming platforms. Our reasoning. . .accessibility.

WebXR allows students to engage with our VR environments across a wide range of platforms including computers, mobile devices, VR headsets. While VR headsets provide the most immersive experience, these other platforms ensure people without expensive headsets can still benefit from our content.

All of our models are optimized for WebXR viewing and are hosted through the open source social VR platform, Mozilla Hubs. Below you will find extensive documentation for getting started using our VR scenes. Enjoy!
